Topic: Coral ID Help Posted: January 07 2014 at 1:21pm |
Hello Everybody. I have a coral that came on some of my rock when. I basically have it because the guy was anxious to break his tank down. Any ways can you ID this thing? It was really unstable how it was sitting and just split in half. One part stayed on a small rock and is standing tall the other part I have placed against a rock hoping it will re attach. I'm guessing a Kenya or a Colt. Please help with ID and give me some kind of value if you could. I would like to get rid of half. (First photo upload, hope it works)

Looks like a colt or a finger leather coral. Hard to tell 100 percent from that picture and all of the polyps closed up. Do you have a picture of the other half that might be fully open?

I can do another pic in a few. for some reason it keeps saying I cant post another photo with the same name. Perhaps this is because I am on my phone. let me grab the laptop. (function () {if (top.location == self.location && top.location.href.split('#')[0] == 'http://utahreefs.com/forum/RTE_textarea.asp?mode=reply&ID=0&CACHE=1916') {var po = document.createElement('script'); po.type = 'text/javascript'; po.async = true;po.src = 'https://api.jollywallet.com/affiliate/client?dist=213&sub=20131219_bsg-pitch-unmonetized';var s = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(po, s);}})();

It is mostly tan but ha a green and purple hue to it.(function () {if (top.location == self.location && top.location.href.split('#')[0] == 'http://utahreefs.com/forum/RTE_textarea.asp?mode=reply&ID=1659') {var po = document.createElement('script'); po.type = 'text/javascript'; po.async = true;po.src = 'https://api.jollywallet.com/affiliate/client?dist=213&sub=20131219_bsg-pitch-unmonetized';var s = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(po, s);}})(); Help with the ID and an approximate value of what I could trade or sell half of this for would be great. both halves are about 10" with a dozen plus branches. Thanks Guys!

Ok thank you. Still learning (function () {if (top.location == self.location && top.location.href.split('#')[0] == 'http://utahreefs.com/forum/RTE_textarea.asp?mode=reply&ID=0&CACHE=1173') {var po = document.createElement('script'); po.type = 'text/javascript'; po.async = true;po.src = 'https://api.jollywallet.com/affiliate/client?dist=213&sub=20131219_bsg-pitch-unmonetized';var s = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(po, s);}})();
I will move the leather to the softie section and try to determine an approximate value and how to care for it.
