Just curious the time periods t5 users run their lights?  I am trying to ensure maximum growth while reducing algae growth to as minimal as possible.  I also seem to get some creeping up my glass.

I run my actinics 10 hours- 1-11p.m. and the rest of the bulbs (6 bulb fixture) 7 hours 3-10 p.m.

Is this long enough...too long?  What do you guys think?  Just curious what others are doing...

I have a 6 bulb fixture and run them for 12 1/2 hours. I had to work up to it over several weeks.

wow, two completely opposite answers.....why work up to 12 hours a day?  Just for longer viewing periods or is there any benefit?

I keep many corals and clams that require tons of light, so to help reduce necessary feedings I run my lights for longer. I see great growth and color, and I get to view the tank for the whole day.

I run my actinics for 12 and half hours. The rest bulbs for about 9 hours. Good growth and colors.
I think you should start from shorter periods on a newer tanks to avoid algaes  problems. And then slowly increase light periods.
