Well we never used our kitchen table .... so I have decided to put a tank in its place LOL
and the funny thing is it was kind of the girlfriends idea (Well at least after I suggested putting it in the baby's room, that didn't go over too well)....  anyway we decided that a 120 was the perfect size for the space....

This is also my first *Brand new* tank =) and being that I already have two tanks I can set this one up nice and slow taking my time to do things right

Also I want to try and go led eventually on this tank....  as long as my seahorse tank(Led) works out long term for corals... but for now I bought this aqua medic light the other day to hold me over until I decide to go that route

I also decided to go with a steel stand this time, its a bit over kill done in 2x2...I did this so I could have a full opened front so I could fit the largest sump possible and everything would be easy to get to... I also ended up rhino lining the thing today to prevent rust =)  I'm pretty sure you could toss this thing off a roof and it wouldn't even ding it

I also wanted to run this tank on its own electrical circuit just so I wouldn't have problems later on. like when my girlfriend likes to turns on everything electrical that she can at one time (hair dryer, straighter microwave toaster etc) and of course with my luck the floor joist went the opposite way I needed them too..

but at least its done now =)  now for patching and paint ... then we can get back to the build =)

I'm still trying to decide If I want to build the sump 22.5x44x20 or If I should just go 22.5x36x20

leaving 8 inches open for a C02 tank/ calcium reactor and leaving the possibility of using an external pump, but I could always place the calcium reactor in the sump and I could also maybe mount it above the sump, and I know I could mount the C02 tank above the sump but I defiantly would not want any equipment out side the stand

Well I went 22.5x44x18 =) with the sump... and all the drywall work is done... now I just gotta get things repainted and should have this thing in place by tomorrow or Saturday

anyway I still need to put some baffles i...n but here it is next to my 210 for size comparison and next to our baby Luke and its actually quite a bit bigger than my sump in my 210

Well the tank is in place, and I also found a calcium reactor(Korallin C-1502)today and I was lucky enough to come across a bit more tonga rock as well

I wrapped the stand in ABS for now, and I did order some high powered magnets to hold it on(Still waiting for these to show up)... but I'm still thinking about finishing the stand/canopy in wood to give the tank more life...(But the abs only cost me $30 bucks and will hold me over for now)

I just need to do the plumbing and need to work on the sump a bit more(Baffles etc) before adding water.... and I still need to find a protein skimmer. and work on some more water flow (right now I'm leaning towards a vortech mp40) and will just put it in the back dead center...(I'm also planning to use a mag 12 as a return)

and I still need to think about what the heck I'm even going to put in this tank =)   .... Ideas?

I'm not sure that baby will work in the tank. I've heard they can be pretty aggressive.

Well I hooked up a DC8 to my apex 30 feet away from my 210 to this tank

I also plumbed my calcium reactor feed into my return line. to clean up a bit of the clutter and cords under the sump.

Now I just need to get a protein skimmer in place and work on the rock work a bit, and it will be ready for livestock

but just wanted to share the news that the usb cables do work that far away... at least for this application =) (Now I gotta go back and run it through the walls and under some baseboard... as well as running water for an auto top off

Well I got my 250w halide sump light in place =) (No need for a frag rack in this tank) *The light it self is dead center over the 22x18 area but the reflector covers the base of the light...so it kind of makes it look off center in the pic*

The Space for the frags/refugium are divided giving both 11x18 inches of space
although I can reduce the refugium to 6x18 and go 16x18 on the frag area if I want to at any given time

And got my DC8 up and running and I also got my auto top off up and running *And of course with my luck when I was running it under the floor boards I just happened to puncture it with a carpet tack and I didn't noticed till about a day later so now we get to enjoy the smell of mildew for the next week =(*

and I got my magnets in place on the faces of the stand =) the magnets are 1x1 squares that are 1/8th an inch thick with 9lbs of pulling pressure each (I still might wrap the stand in wood in the future or I might add some trim to this black abs) but I wouldn't consider it a finished product just yet... but it is good enough to get me by for a bit
