I have a couple kinds of Xenia in my tank but one is spreading like wildfire. How do you control its growth? This Xenia seems to be encrusting the entire rock. I tried pulling it loose but the polyps pull off and leave soft tissue on the rock. I am afraid it will simply grow back.

Should I just get rid of any rocks with this coral on it or can it be controlled?

I just cut back a lot of it last night. It hasn't taken over the complete rock yet but I want to prevent this from happening. If anyone wants some I would be willing to cut some off for you. I am not setup to attach it to rock or substrait but will give you some in a plastic bag that you can attach yourself.

This particular Xenia has long thin polyps on short stalks. It flows nicely in the current but does not pulse. PM me if you want to come get some.

I have it growing all over my back wall. I have to flush some weekly so it doesn't shade over my sps. I agree with the small, loose rocks.....it just takes some patience.
