I have a condi anemone that I got about a year ago. When I bought it, it was beautiful white-clear color with purple tips. Then it went through a phase where it wasn't too happy and now it is very happy again and brown and florescent green. Anyone know why the colors change????
Do you feed it? Mine grow like crazy due to the fact they are right under the spot where I add food to the tank so they get their fair share before the fish have a change at it.

Mine seems very healthy and it is pretty much brown with purple tips. When I bought mine it was white with purple tips. The white is in the trunk a little still but the tentacles are a dark brown.

Mine is the exact same, at first was worried about it because i thought the color change was bad, but he is still kicking and getting bigger
They have algae (known as zooxanthellae) that live inside their tissue that provide a major food source for the animal. When they are white they have lost it all because of the stress from shipping and everything. But under good lighting and eating well the zooxanthellae will grow back.
