I plan on building the tank myself out of 3/4 in acrylic. The idea for the tank came from the perfecto 200gl. I was going to just by the tank until I found out how they wanted $1300 for it.The extra PVC is a 3/4in T to help hold the weight of the pump. Can't wait to use it Big%20smile

I might give it a try but the Da** cones look like a pain plus making it cleanable (flanges and such) are also a pain.I would like to build a ASM type.Skimmers have allot more to them than a reactor.

ah, skimmers aren't that bad, have you sourced a price on 3/4" acrylic yet?  Using 3/4" you are going to be awfully close to $1000 at least.

I have priced it out and I might just go with  3/4 in front and back so it doesn't bow.If I go with 3/4 then I wont have to have as much bracing on top I might end up with 1/2 but we will see.

Yes hamerhead believe it or not it is a Ca reactor the bigger it is the more SPS I can have and the less I have to fill it with media.I didn't have a camera when building it so no more pics It is a very simple design though I will post some it taken apart if you want

It  is some kind of PVC drain cover that I cut up to fit in  the tube. Then I  put a cloth rain rain gutter guard on it with some gorilla glue. I will be going to home depot today and I will take picks and get a sku #
