    Posted: March 20 2011 at 9:57pm
As I mentioned in a different thread, I recently switched over to LED lights and have been very pleased with the growth and colors. Its been a little over 2 moths under these lights so this is still an experiment in progress.  However, coming from T5 and Metal Halides I have noticed the colors to be a bit more vivid than before. THis is a rimless cube tank and the thing I really like about the tank is the fact that its open at the top and the corals can be viewed looking down.
I decided to take some pics today to show everyone that LEDs can indeed grow healthy SPS. Although its a new light setup, I'm hoping that thing will stay on track and stay looking good.
Anothert thing I noticed is that taking pics under LEDs is very tricky. The camera gets fooled quite easily. I used auto white balance on most of these pics and shot them in manul mode.

Bstuver and Bob, I'll take some full tank shots and post them soon. JB, it would be great to have you over. lmk when.
Thanks jcoulter, I just submitted a couple of pics.
The camera I used is a canon t2i and most of the top down are taken with the stock 18-55mm lens.

Here are some full tank shots i took. Comparing it to the pics I had from when I just switched ot LEDs, i can see that the colors seem to have improved . This could be either becuse the corals themselves has colored up a bit more or maybe the LEDs really make the colors pop. Either way I cant complain. Here are a few pics:
