I got a frag of red people eater palys from brad syphus about 2-3 months ago, and they are doing great except about 2 days ago they started to go transluscent but still retained thier color? any idea of a cause?

My red people eaters did the same thing. What kind of light are they under? how close are they to the light? My red people eaters are extremely slow growers and dont like a lot of light. If I  remember Brad has his rpe about middle tank under halides. Try moving them down away from the light a little more.

Sorry for the long waited reply.
They are about 1/3 the way up the tank, and about 30" from the light.
The light is 2 250w Metal halide 14k pheonix bulbs.

Whats your water params like, do you dose iodine? I started doseing iodine and a lot of my zoas exploded with growth. I dose Fuel, Ions, strontium and mag.
My water params are: 9.5 alk, 1.024, 8.3 ph, 1400 mag, 500 cal.

9.4 alk 1.023, 8.4 ph, 1600 mag (hair algea help possibly?) and 540 cal. Everythings good,
Only needed to ose magnesium, tech M, although we have ph buffer, calc, ect.

They should be ok. I would just watch them. Mine did the same thing at first and now they are pretty red.

The thing that is crazy to me is that it started happening 1-2 months after introduction into the tank, not the first week, but months
