Does anyone know anybody that can drill a 10 gal fuge or how much it costs I was thinking of getting another 10 gal and connecting them via a pipe does that make sense? or would it be cheaper to by a longer tank and jus put deviders in it for the fuge? ------------- OGDEN |

| longer with dividers... drilling+gaskets == more potential for leaks/disaster. just get a 20 long if you want that footprint and put acrylic dividers in it. |

I have a drilled 10 gallon display tank. The glass is very thin so have to be very carful with it. I have had it running for some time now without problems.

I have had 2 10 gallon tanks drilled and both have eventually cracked. You have to be REALLY careful as the glass is so thin. ------------- 210g sw fish West Jordan |

My drilled 10g tank cracked as well. It lasted for about 3 months. ------------- 120g up an running in Spanish Fork. |

I've been wanting to do a 10 Gallon display tank with a 10 Gallon fuge. I obviously don't want it to crack. kethomps, rhymechizel... How big were your holes and where were they located? How many holes did you have? Do you remember where they cracked? Did they crack because of strain from the plumbing? ------------- Alex |

wow i didnt know they cracked that easy im thinkin it aint such a great idea anyone think i should be convinsed otherwise??? i really dont like potential problems i worry about crap like that and it makes the hobbie way less fun I had a swamp cooler pump in my fuge for a wile (it worked great by the way and was like 10 bucks for 1100 GPH) but I was always stressin over if it fell in (it kinda hoovered above the tank) it would be really bad if it woulda became a submersable pump!! ------------- OGDEN |

The best advise I think would be to make a custom sump/refuge out of acrylic. Acrylic huh I havent played with that yet how much isnt that much any way? and is that just a home depot kinda thing, or do I wanna get it somewhere else? also the do it yourself "joint welds" has anyone ever had problems with leaks? thats what got me un interested in drilling the 10 gallon tanks!! Im pretty handy with my hands I do Auto body and painting for a living but unless it requires a paint booth or a frame rack to build one im not real sure im equiped info?
