| I recently noticed a few tiny white creatures in my tank. they look like tiny white pineapples. After doing a google search I found out that they were a type of sponge called pineapple sponges. From what I read they seem to be innocuous filter feeders. Does anyone have these in their tank? Any thoughts on these sponges? |

| I had them in my sump when my tank was new. Nothing to be worried about and they will go away with time. |

Pineapple Sponge in the Scypha Sponge family, a calcareous sponge that eats Alk, Ca, Si, and filter feeds plankton, helping keep the tank clean. Watch your Alk and Ca levels.
