About 4 months ago my sump sprung a leak and after much panic I had a new sump in with 20 lbs of new "live sand" (the stuff from CarbiSea). All the old sand with the copepods and amphipods was placed in the main tank. Since then I have been watching for new batches of the little buggers, but am loosing patience. I've participated in the sand swap a couple of months ago, and know there were a couple of the critters that made it as I saw a large copepod and some ministars, but they have dissappeared (in both tanks). I do have a bunch of worms (spagetti and other) that have sprung up. Yeah, yeah....get to the point..... Am I premature in my worry and need to hold my horses, or should I be looking at seeding a new batch? If a new colony is needed how do I go about doing that?

Gonzo, there is probably some pods already there but they are hiding or just too small.  How does the saying go... "For every mouse you see, there is twenty that you don't."  But you want some more, come on over.  I have been to your house and you are welcome to mine whenever.
