This is kind of a stupid question but, I added more sand to my tank and i buried a few hermit crabs I think, can they dig there way out?

Not being sarcastic but I would Just dig them out with a stick or hand They might dig themselves out but No sense in wasting the cash. I have torn down a tank and found Hermits still alive in it A month later dry hope that helps
