I currently have a 75 gallon reef that I am running without a skimmer. I was thinking of getting http://www.ebay.com/itm/PS-75-Protein-Skimmer-Aquarium-Filter-Marine-Coral-Reef-Sump-SPS-Soft-Hard-New/111114839104?_trksid=p2047675.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222002%26algo%3DSIC.FIT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D11%26meid%3D8932285944874455466%26pid%3D100011%26prg%3D1005%26rk%3D3%26sd%3D300924945966%26" rel="nofollow - this one.

I know it's expensive but I'd go with the Reef Octopus BH1000. I did a lot of research on job skimmers before settling on the seaclone 100 for a 29. If I could do it over again and could afford it, I'd go with the Reef Octopus for sure. They're great skimmers and last a long time.

Do you not have a sump and need it to run HoB? Honestly, you get what you pay for with skimmers. I would look for something bigger for a 75g.
