So today I got around to installing two AI Sol Blues into the hood of my RedSea Max 250. Here's how I did it...

End result on my tank... (excuse the eel trap/pipe)

So far I have the white and blue set at 15% max and royal at 10% max. Hopefully I won't cook my corals with that. I'm going to slowly increase the output over the next few weeks/months by about 5-10% weekly depending on how the corals seem to be handling the change.

Just a little update....After trying the lights at the following peak intensities for a few days (w: 100% b:100% rb50%) the right unit (the one away from the cooling fans that blow into the hood) has consistently been overheating around 7pm everyday. So to solve this I have dropped the peak intensities to w:60% b:60% rb:30%

Ann, maybe we should wire up a 12 inch computer fan to cool that side and then loser the voltage with a pot to slow it down and keep if from being noisy?

I could go for an 80mm fan but not a 12" one. Wink

If you wouldn't mind helping me wire up two high speed fans to blow into each side I'd really appreciate it!
