Power is out at my house. How long will everything be ok with me stirring the water? Temp I dont think is going to be a huge issue yet as the house is fairly warm.

Go and get a battery powered air pump.  It will help work until  the power is back on, watch your temp if power is off a long time.

Power is back. I'm going looking for a battery backup.

I luckily have a battery back up that will keep my pump and mp40 running for an hour. Great investment, although I got it for free. I would recommend getting one.

This is more than a hobby; its a lifestyle.

Fyi, I had mine off for 12hrs... Some good water movement by your hand every bit will work.. A battery from your car and an inverter works well too.

I have the EcoTech backup battery for my vortech pumps that will power them much longer than a regular UPS for a computer but for aeration, Cabelas (and other places I'm sure) have little bubblers that are made for keeping bait or fish alive in a cooler or other tank. They will run on standard C/D batteries for hours and hours. Just search for "aerators" on the site to see what I mean.

Even better! Much better to source from a supporting shop!
