While I was in doing some work in the tank tonight, this creature came cruising across the front glass:

I know it's a nudibranch but of what variety I have no idea, I haven't had a predation problem of any kind in the tank, there was a weed anemone that went missing though.

Thoughts?

there are some anemone eating nudibranches out there, i'm not sure what variety that one is though.  It sure is pretty, but i would definitely try to research it some more to see what it is and what damage it could potentially cause before you set it free in your tank again.

Sorry i couldn't be more help, but its definitely a cool looking one thanks for sharing.

He's in his own little container hanging in the tank right now, I'll keep him there till I figure out what he is exactly. He doesn't resemble the zoanthid eating nudibranchs,

He does however resemble one type of berghia I saw while googling, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berghia_coerulescens" rel="nofollow - Berghia coerulescens (Wikipedia)

He would've had to have been in the tank for months and I haven't had any coral of any kind show any signs of predation... I'm stumped lol.

I guess it's possible he's that type of berghia while the more common one in the trade is the Berghia verrucicornis, but I'm just making observations at this point.

I think it's safe to say my guess that he's a berghia coerulescens was correct, I got a hold of a weed anemone and he went right for it:

Chowing down happily.

Looks like they only go for anemones in the aiptasia family, like the other berghia.

I've got a rock anemone in the tank that hasn't been touched, but he went right for the lightbulb anemone (close relative of aiptasia). There was a lightbulb anemone on a rock in the tank that went missing a while back, I usually just killed them like aiptasias but I hadn't got that one yet, he beat me to it.

I'll have to try to get some pictures that aren't from a phone, definitely the strangest hitchhiker I've ever gotten, and the coolest.

I decided to call him Slurms Mackenzie, shopped pic related:
