While I was at work my heater went haywire and the temp reached 90+ degrees. My sister called me and told me what was going on. The water is cloudy - visibility at 4 inches and I'm wondering the next move. While I was working they put bags of ice in the water and it's about 82 degrees now. The frogspawn looks completely melted, and the anemones I cannot see due to cloudiness. Had about 10% of the tanks total volume fresh saltwater replaced. Going to get more in the morning. Wondering what the next move is? Livestock look fine ATM but cannot see too well. Any advice is helpful thank you very much.

Anyone with fresh saltwater mixed in sugar house area I will pay for it. Otherwise I'm waiting until Fish4U opens at noon.

I have 4 gallons of water that I picked up from my LFS yesterday and salt to mix that I would drop off for you to have this morning.  I know its not much though if you have a huge tank! I pm'd you my number.

Change Water. Alot. The Amonia will be bad. It will also continue throught out  the week. Make more plans to change water, add prime (or something to help with Amonia) and change carbon. Then change more water. Also if you run a Skimmer wet Skim the tank.

Remove anything thats melting. ASAP.

Thank you much for all the PM's. The reefing community around here is unbelievable. I cannot extend enough gratitude for the people who offered to drive 30 minutes to help me out. I found some salt water and did a 50% change. I've replaced filter pads as well as carbon. I'm running about 2 cups of carbon for a 34gal RSM. Any suggestions as what to do next? Never had something like this happen to me. any tips would be appreciated.

Keep changing water and carbon. Can't stress this enough.
Hope and Praying will also help.

Is your water still cloudy?

Have you remove any melted corals?

How are your fish doing?

50% water change for a 34 gal RSM. Took all the melted corals and anemones out someone came and grabbed the corals to try and rescue them. Going to do another smaller water here soon. What would you recommend for water changes? All fish are looking good. Two clowns and a watchmen goby

If you you have removed any dead or dying corals, and your fish seem OK - then I think you can stop the water changes.

But I would still prep water for 1 more change in case things start to deteriorate again.
