I can't get to my 1in. Sargent damsel that died over night. My hermit seems to be eating it but idk how far that will go and if its going to harm my tank at all either. Its a really small fish so I don't think it would do much right? I also just did a 15% water change yesterday and my thought on fishes death was ich.

Edited: its behind rocks that I have no way of getting too.

I don't think your tank is stocked enough for the decomp to not matter. I would move the rocks and pull it out. Sorry. I think it will cause too much pollution if you leave it in there.

Not stocked enough of what though? Will the crabs eat through to the skeleton? Or do I need to get something else to eat what the crabs don't? And I'm definitely kind of worried about it cause I don't want to kill off everything else in my tank. But what else will help with this sort of cleanup?

Moving the rocks and taking it out is your best option.

you could get a bamboo skewer like the ones used for kabobs and spear it . I have a bag of them and they are very useful in the aquarium

I use bamboo skewers all the time in the tank. Very handy.

Yeah I was thinking of going to get long tongs but that's a good idea. And it looks like the crabs ate just about all of it. That I can see, I ahavemt gotten a chance to skewer it though.

I also straightened a fish hook and tied it to the skewer so I have a barbed end on it . works great.

Tried something like that but just kicked sand more than it moved the fish.

So use the baster , squeeze till its full then let the back pressure suck it to the end like a syphon . I forgot but that works too
