Take it apart and soak it in a vinegar solution for about a day then scrub it. Might just be calcium deposits clogging the motor.

+1...  we were just able to save a pump from seizing and overheating by taking it apart and cleaning it.

I have read that little giant pumps or some of them require lubrication every 6 months. I might be wrong, someone correct me. Being that the pump was running 24/7 and not serviced once turned off and cooled down it jammed. Get a manual online on how to lubricate them and give it a good cleaning.

The crappy part is it was running yesterday, totally fine, before we took it down to move it to our place. We did oil it before we put it in our sump, because we were told it needed it. We are currently draining our sump so we can pull it out to take it apart/clean it/talk nicely to it/throw it off our balcony. lol

Thank you guys for all your help! Hopefully we figure something out so we can attend our first meeting tonight and see all you fish people in person! Tongue

So I figured out the problem. Inside the housing was bent causing it to put pressure on the rotation. We fixed the dent now it works!! WOOOHOOO
