I saw a lot of PVC pipes being used for more than one application. Is there a specific joint compound to use or can one just pick up any from the home improvement store? In other words, are some toxic or dangerous to the livestock or tank environment?

You can use PVC glue. Go to home depot, and ask them for Christies Hot Sprinkler glue. It is a primer and glue in one step, and works excellent.

Any questions, call me.
