Just wanted to post this here because it is ground breaking news for people like me. Being sent out today are two, yes two, captive raised Moorish Idols. Packing a hefty retail price that I'm predicting to be around $150 but serving as a fantastic sign of things to come. Carberry and company have me all giddy with this announcement.

If you are interested in buying one of these amazing fish please let me know ASAP. I'm still cautious and weary about this species, but am thrilled with this development from our colleagues/supporters.

Adam

I am interested Adam.  I am sick of people lying about the eating habits of the ones they sell.

If a LFS tells you that a fish is eating then ask them to to show you, Fish will eat 24/7 so if they feed and the fish eat's or doesn't eat then you will pretty much have your answer.

Eric is 100% correct. I never buy a fish unless I see it eat first. If the store won't feed it I won't buy it.

^to add onto that, if the fish isnt eating like a pig, don't buy it.  It doesn't matter how full they are, they will always attack the food if they are healthy and eating.

FYI, Dave Palmer, CEO of Pacific Aqua Farms lives in St. George, UT. We were going to have him as our first guest speaker, if I had stayed there and built up the Southern Utah branch of the WMAS.

I love these fish and have kept several.... They WILL eat softies, LPS, and nip at stones. Please be sure you are aware of this before you buy....
