I finally got our tank setup with the Marco dry rock and Lake Bonneville oolitic sand about 3 days ago. Before putting the sand in the tank I allowed all the sand to completely dry and then sifted the sand through a fine sifter twice. Then I washed the sand pretty thoroughly I thought. I put the sand in the tank with the Marco dry rock to where it looked pretty good. Then I pumped RO water from my basement 55 gallon tank up to the sump where I had the water then pumped up to the 120 gallon tank (long story I know) and the water was very cloudy (can't see anything except a solid cloud of dust in the tank. That was 3 days ago. Last night however I remembered that I hadn't put salt in the tank so I put that in the sump to completely mix in the sump water and then pumped that up into the tank and allowed it all to recirculate between the sump and the tank all night long (still extremely cloudy and probably all that pumping water while it was still very cloudy didn't help much.)
Anyway, does anyone know if there is something that I am supposed to do to get this water to clear up or does it take a number of days for it to clear on its own for the sediment to settle to the bottom?

I dropped some poly filter material in a filter box I have for the mechanical filtration. This would clear it up within a day or so. In mine, I have a section of the refugium where I can put this as needed. I've heard others use a filter sock to polish the water. If you don't have a place to put mechanical filter media, perhaps you can get an Aquaclear or other HOB filter to fill with some sort of mechanical filter media and run it until the water is clear.

If you have one toss a filter sock on your drain.... or if you don't I have a bunch extra and can give one to mom and she can bring it down to ya let me know... text would be better I've been super busy

Yes, if you could please have mom bring me one of your filter socks that would be great. Also can I get some live sand from you? I don't have anything yet to liven up my rocks and sand.
