Hi i need help to get rid of red algae its getting all over my sand. I also need to get my calcium up so please if any one can help me out

Are we talking about cyano?
What is your cal and alk readings?

calcium should be 450 and the cyano suck it out with turkey baester i think alot of people are going through this cause of the heat

I agree. The warmer days naturally bring on red slime/Cyanobacteria.
Here is another question. What are the high and low temperatures of the tank?
Regarding Calcium and Alkalinity, there are some simple household chemicals that are used to bring up those levels.

here here with the cyano- it makes the rounds in the summer and leaves for winter in my tank.

If it is Cyano- I have had the chance to get to know Cyano many times this past year. A few things that I learned: 1. Decrease lighting time. 2. Make sure you are not over feeding. 3. Add flow. Watch when you feed the tank, is the food all settling in one place? 4. Nip it in the butt before it gets out of hand. Good luck pollo.
