I actually did this with a smaller solar light and it works pretty good. I can still see it in the morning and the best part is, no wire or timer.

That's innovative, but it does not look like moonlight so what's the point?

It is beneficial for most fish to have some sort of moon cycle. With some of the more advanced versions that follow the actual moon cycle people have been able to induce corals to spawn in captivity, as well as having fish breed that would not normally do so in a normal home aquarium.

get out the soldering iron and a blue led...i have plenty if you want one....

It looks more like moonlight than the "moonlights" we put on tanks these days. Last I checked the moon didn't reflect blue light from the sun :P
Although I'll be the first one to say the blue is definitely a nice touch. You could always put a cheap blue plastic covering over the light to give it that appeal. ------------- 125g 90g 2x33g 34g What stores do I recommend?
