I bought a beautiful Duncan head about 3 months ago and it has developed 4 heads on it's steam. I was just wondering when, if, and how I should frag them. The main duncan has gotten rather large and the new heads are about as big as the original duncan when we first got it (so I'm assuming I could frag it if I wanted too).

Also, what would happen if I just let the duncan do it's thing. How does it spread or does it just stay on the same steam developing more and more heads?

Here are some pics of what I'm talking about. You only get to see a few heads on the side but there are 4 for sure and I think another two coming in.

Thanks

Sculpin

If the heads are on their own little piece of stem you can just cut them off.  We had a colony a couple months ago that we did that to. We just cut them with pruning shears.  I kept one piece that had one head and a place where there was 4 more heads, the places that I cut the heads off now have new heads.

Like Deb said. Let the heads grow out to stems. Once they have some length to them then cut them off. Or let it grow into a cool colony.
