So we had some power outages early this morning (about 4 or so) and my aquacontroller doesn't handle them too well (Long story but if you want to know just ask). Anyway, after getting the tank all situated and back on track (it was shut down for about 5 hours) I noticed one of my paly's were doing something I've never seen before. They seemed to be ejecting some kind of brown string stuff.

Anyone have a clue what's going on here?

Thanks

Sculpin

LOL, are you guys serious? I've never herd of a coral taking a dump before. Some of these strings where about a foot long too.

well they dont have any way to expell if they eat too much or if they have waste so yes it comes back out of the mouth. thats what it looks like to me

I agree and this is my thought about what happened. Because circulation stopped, metabolism changed and the little poop strands that would normally be immediately washed away created one long thread that probably started when circulation resumed. Does it make sense?

Corals have one opening. Food and waste both use it.
