Okay, so I have an aggressive Green Star Polyp taking over the stalk of my Candycane coral. Obviously I need to move the Candy, but is it safe to scrape off the GSP without hurting the Candy? The candycane has always been healthy but is showing signs of stress now. There are white bony ridges showing around the rim of the heads. I appreciate any thoughts on this.

it sounds like the candy is dying, the flesh is receeding and the skeleton is showing. i would scrap off the gsp right way and move the candy.

Yes you can scrape the GSP off of the rough part of the candycane not the fleshy part. The GSP stings hard and will definitely kill the Candycane.
