I have picked up some fabulouse coral from Marine Aquatics.  They have been bringing in some spectacular peices lately and I wanted to share some pics, even though my camera isn't able to give me good pics with my new lights.Angry  On a side note, They have one of the best looking velvet wrasses in right now. If I didn't have a big male already, he would be swimming in his new home right now.Wink

Wow!  Very beautiful! I love the 2nd and 4th ones.

What is your experience with wild colonies Brad?  I don't have a good experience with them.  Even though maricultured colonies are basically the same, they are much hardier in my opinion.

I have to admit Dinhkim, that my cultured colonies seem hardier, but if the wild caught ones look very healthy, I've had good successs. These are very healthy looking colonies and I am very optimistic.  They are soooo much nicer than the pictures show.  You need to go and check out their frags.

Are the last three acros from Shawn?  I stopped by Aquatica a few days ago and Shawn was like "You're late! Brad was here and grabbed three pieces out of the box".  I have to say that your timing is impeccable.

Thanks guys, Yes that's a new solymia, He's a small one though , only about 2-3 inches across.
That first coral is the one Dinhkim is talking about, photos don't do it justice.  It's definately the showpeice of the tank right now.

"actually now that i look at it again it seems to be a hammer/frogspawn crossbreed. It has the hammer ends, but it has more than one head per arm.. or however u want to say it"

she's talking about your genus Euphyllia, its actually a hybrid between what we consider hammer (Euphyllia ancora) and frogspawn (Euphyllia paradivisa)  It exhibits both "hammer ends" and frogspawn branched ends, it hybridizes in nature and your colony is a result of that

beautiful corals by the way
hope that clears everything up

Doug said it has been in his tanks for sale for almost 3 months and couldn't believe it hadn't sold already.  I'm very surprised too.
