Tell me what do you think?  No more flying fish.Big%20smile  I wanted to find something to cover the top of my tank, but still let the light in.  But I didn't want to ruin the look of the open top.  Well I built a screen frame the size of my tank and used garden netting for a screen.  I saw this from Gary Majchrzak.  A former RC TOTM  in the Upstate New york reef club forum.  He had just acquired a bunch of wrasses like me and had built this to cover his tank.  So I got in touch with him and he told me what I needed and here is the end result.  I know Jon could of built it better, but I'm happy with it. I still have that clean open top look.
The eggcrate fence will be coming down now.LOL

Total cost was less than 20 bucks.

It looks good Brad. It shoud be a lot easier on the fish when they bounce off of it too.

Looks good.  What is the netting made of?  plastic coated, stainless, etc.  I still need to come by and see your latest additions.

It's a plastic netting called garden cloth, very strong and weather resistant. I got it in the garden section at lowes.   I just fed them and one tried to jump out, and he hit the netting and bounced right back in the water.  It works!Clap

That's exactly what it reminded me of when it happened.

$20 to save $1000 of fish is a very good investment indeed. Is it still easy to access the tank when you need to, or is it a pain to remove?

It's very easy to take off. I have my acrylic magnet cleaner holding it in place. I just remove the magnet and lift it off. Takes seconds.  You need to stop by sometime Jamison.

I just made 3 of these for my 210 gallon tank. I am not the least bit handy. Sometimes I get in trouble trying to open the mail. This was a very easy project!

Just wondering why you made 3,   3 small ones or 3 large ones?

3 small ones.

My All-Glass has 2 cross bars dividing the tank into 3 sections. The smaller covers took more time but they're real easy to move around. Much moreso than a 6 footer.

Is your tank still doing great?

I have not taken pictures. It looks exactly like yours only smaller. =)

The tank is doing great!

But, I know nothing about anything!

Especially corals! I don't even know what I've got! So I am looking to get an expert over here to help me ID them so I can do some research on how to take care of them.

My fish are doing really well though.

Just an update .  Even though the mesh is 1/2" x 1/2" squares, I still have had a couple of the smaller wrasses make it thru the screen, so this morning I doubled it up with 2 sheets overlapping one another and staggered.  Hopefully now the little rascals wont go flying anymore.

The only wrasse I have small enough to get out is a 6 line.  I'd love for him to taste some carpet instead of fins off of my red tailed tamarind wrasse!

I picked up a tri color fairy wrasse with a hair lip. Looks like a birth defect but he eats very well. Funny looking guy. Like a down syndrome child.
