What is the recommended way to clean a pH probe before calibrating it using the 2 solution method?

On the net there are several methods using slight acidic solutions to disolve salts, but they're not very clear on what the pH of this solution should be or if it even matters....

Any tips?  otherwise i'm going to use a toothbrush and some dilute vinager and just have at it...

Dave,

I use an old toothbrush and warm tap water. I don't think the vinegar will hurt anything though.
