I found a little crab in my acro today. He is white with dark eyes and purple coloring on his legs... I've heard that some crabs can eat coral. How do I know if this is one?

Thanks

I'd say just keep an eye on him. There are many different kinds of crabs that host in acros. I think it would be very unlikely that the crab you described would be harmful to your coral; sounds like a neat addition to your tank. If your worried about it I would take him off of your hands ;)

I really want an I.D. on him so I can learn a little more about what I have.

Sounds like a nice Acro Crab, but can you describe the claws? Shape, size, shape of the claw tips, etc

I'm not sure the size of the claws... I only saw him once. I did, however, notice that they are pointed.

Not a thing wrong with those crabs.  They're fun to watch too.

From what I have read they eat the slime that the acro produces and are an obligate host to the acro.
