I'm just about ready to set up my DIY hang on the back refugium and would like to get some input on the best lighting for it. I've found some good deals on hellolights.com, in particular the mini aqua light 18Watt PC. They have two choices 9watt 10000K with 9watt actinic or 2 9watt 6700K.
Which spectrum would be best for macroalgae? and is 18 watts going to be sufficient for a 5-6 gallon refugium?
For space reasons i've decided not go with the ever popular home depot PCs.
Thanks
Jeremy

6700k would be best for a fuge...  IMO a 18w PC will do the job well.

I have a 18 watt 50/50 on a larger refuge and it is doing well. Macro algea seems much less fussy with light then corals. I have dealt with hello lights before and would recomend them. good prices and service. I would also recomend doing a reverse daylight if you can. I belive mine has made a differance.
