It's a non-photosynthetic Gorgonian and does not live long in our tanks because it requires lots of plankton, unfortunately a lot more than our typical biofiltration can handle.
There are photosythetic Gorgonian that do live well in our tanks.
They grow like weeds along the Florida coast, are inexpensive and a better purchase for the environment.
