As we are getting closer to this awesome Nov meeting (11/3) I have three questions for everyone:

What is your toughest tank parameter to maintain (Cal, Mag, Alk, Other)?

What do you do to adjust/maintain?

What test kit(s) do you use?
180G Mixed Reef Tank

170G Dart Frog Tank

Alkalinity has always had the most fluctuations for me.

I have always boosted my Alk with baking soda.  Once I get it where I like it I then use my homemade 2 part CA/Alk solution to maintain a balanced level.

I use Red Sea test kits.

Alkalinity is definitely the "toughest" water parameter to maintain.

It is not difficult now through an automated doser and the knowledge of consumption from the water. I know how much to dose and when. Every hour my tank receives 25mL of sodium carbonate.

I test alkalinity every 3 days using Red Sea.

Alkalinity fee sher. Dose a gallon of to mixed with 12-14 tsps mixed into it per week of either red sea or seachem reefbuilder. Test using api because it's way cheaper than the others and gives decent results.
