I would just stop dosing any Mag and let it lower itself over time.
1440 ppm is a bit high, but it is not dangerously high IMO.
Other choice is to do a partial water change with newly made up SW that is lower in Mg.

I say you are low...but I'm a bit crazy. There are many of us that keep our mag at 1500-1600 or even higher, up to 1800. Some of those people include me, Jared Butler, Eric (Marine Aquatics), Tyree...ect. The theory behind keeping your Mg high is to suppress your coralline algae growth and leave more calcium available in the water for your corals. It is said that coralline uses up calcium something like 8x or 10x faster than most corals. I say leave it alone, and see how it goes over the next couple months. You will probably like it and so will your corals. If you do like it you can probably bump it up to 1500-1600 range with good stability.

I keep my mg at 1500+! Raise your calcium up to 420 but do it slowly

That Mg level is no problem at all. I would definitely raise the Ca and suggest raising the Alk as well. With Alk closer to 10 and Ca closer to 450 the Mg will be more effectively utilized by the coral.
