Back, with RSM

Well my names Ron, I was force out of the hobby a few years ago due to financial issues and now things are turning around for the best. :D I was gonna go into the airforce but was disqualified due to a cataract in my eye. Well now I have received a good enough job offer to support a tank, oh and my family. When I had left I was just starting to get the hang of running a reef, and I'm back to take a hand at it again.

To start off the build I lucked out and got a decent RSM 130, not sure if its the d model or if its just the 130. I thought for my first tank that a 34gallon would be a good start. I picked this up and a bunch of dead rock for $150, bad thing is it didn't come with a stand. So now I'm talking with Dion to see what he can do price wise or maybe get the factory stand for about $180. Still not bad considering that the combined price new is close to a grand.

The lights are those t5-PC's and I was wondering if anyone had luck with a different brand of bulb or what? I know what color I'm going for so with the Panorama LED strip that came with the tank, I'm trying to work the best route to get their. The LED's are around 460nm actinic.

The protein skimmer is still their and the pump still works. Now this is supposte to have two return pumps but only has the one. One sides plugged up but the pump that's in their now is also a bigger one. So now I need to decide if I'll add that other side for more flow or not.

Is their an uv sterilizer for this tank that isn't too hard to hook up? I would like to put one on because I'm a bit against ICH and other things I had issues with. This combined with the protein skimmer smoothed everything out on my last tank I had so I want to learn from past experiences and start with one.

Its gonna be about another month or so before I have this tank set up to start its cycle, just so that I can have everything ready the way I want it. 

Finally some pics, I only have two pics right now one of the tank and another of the rocks, I wont start setting up my aquascape until I get the stand so that I don't have to move it around a whole lot.

Oh and I checked that one out earlier, I would love to have mine running that nice. The uv sterilizer was the thing I liked a lot on yours. I will probably need to get an additional pump to run the uv sterilizer off of. Maybe a maxijet or something.

The UV is hooked up to one of my returns so no need for another pump. As for media I have a Carbon Reactor and in the basket I am running Carbon, Ceramic Disks in a bag and filter floss. Keeps my tank running extremely clean. The Tunze9002 Skimmer is awesome at removing other stuff in fact If I dose any "fuel" I have to turn it off or it removes 90% of what I put in.

Thanks man, I should be able to get somethings going as far as a stand in no time.

Have you posted in the classifieds that you need one? Someone might have one sitting around but not know you need one.

I would also post on ksl too. Never hurts
