anyone keeping this guys or have had experience can give me some feed back i would really like to keep one in my 75 gallon reef tank

I keep blue stripe pipefish in my reef, they have been in there for atleast a few months =)  doing really well

do they need live food? or do they eat regular froozen food?

They do need live pods, so a well established tank is a must, at least a year old is what I would recommend, with a mature fuge. After they get comfortable you can try to get them onto things like cyclopeeze and bbs.

My brother kept a banded pipefish for 5 years. He had an amazing Refugium which he believes was the basis for the longevity.

Ive tried them in a tank for work before and they did good for about 6 months. They were even eating frozen foods. But sadly the tank was not taken care of and it wasnt at my office :(

I've had a blue stripe pipefish for over a year. He was put in an established tank and has done great. I must have enough "stuff" growing in there because he just slithers around picking at the rocks.

I had a Jann's pipe for two year that I got from Tresa who had him for 3 years. Great fish....
I have flying monkeys and I'm not afraid to use them.

180 gallon money pit that I love.....
