Ok, guys! I read the most interesting article in Coral Mag last night. I can get the details if anyone wants (or reads this) but the theory was that bacteria grows more around corals, and during the night when photosynthesis causes plants to inspire O2, the bacteria surrounding the corals use up the available O2, and the corals become hypoxic. Anyone heard this theory? The researcher used a broad spectrum antibiotic to increase the oxygen available to the corals...

Don't you run the risk of the antibiotic killing your nitrifying  bacteria?

I think the antibiotic is a bad idea.  This theory has been out forever, and most still say that increased water flow takes care of all oxygen problems.
