I have had this guy for about week now and he has been doing really well. When the lights turned on today I noticed some ick spots on him. After further inspection, I have noticed some cloudy spots on him as well. These are all pretty new I am guessing because I have been watching him a lot. He is still eating great, but I am worried.

I just hooked up my turbo twist UV light (in a 30 gallon tank) until I can get another one for this tank shipped here. I have started feeding garlic soaked food. Can anyone think of something else I can do? I have Methylene Blue that I can dip him in, has anyone had success with this?

I really appreciate your help in advance. Thank You!!

Aloha Zach,

Wow, no answers to your request made early last PM. I guess we were [mostly] all at the Iron Chef - Battle Fish Food meeting. Clap It was an awesome meeting and the perennial question about Garlic Oil came up, as it should because this meeting was all about feeding.

Another Blue Spot Jawfish currently has a similar problem. See this thread from just a few days ago:

Here is a tip that is sometimes overlooked when reading the WMAS Reefkeeping Tip about the "Miracle of Garlic Oil":
Because every reef tank is different, some Garlic products that work in one, don't work in another. If, after one or two days of using a Garlic Oil, the ich has not gone completely away, another Garlic Oil product should be tried. That's the beauty of using the inexpensive Garlic Oils from the grocery/health food store. The differences in response to different GO products is not a tough idea to grasp when you think about the well known fact that in humans, OTC pain relievers work differently for different people.
