I know it's a little stretch, but just a little. The two hobbies go hand in hand really, and it helps with the translation from the actual hobby of keeping a reef aquarium, to the internet where we talk about our hobby. This would be a great place to ask questions about equipment and technique, also a good place to post the results. Just thought I'd throw it out there, I've been experimenting with my camera, and it would be nice to have a specific forum where I could go to read up on things I'm not considering to this point, because of my lack of experience. The same utility that the site has for many other aspects of the hobby. My time on the boards is spent mostly as a "lurker". If I have a question I'm more likely to search for past posts looking for my answer than I am to just come out and ask. A concentration of photography posts enable someone looking for that info to find it easily. Based on my time spent "lurking",I know that there is a wealth of knowledge within the club on the topic, and I also know how generous people are with their knowledge. It could just be that they enjoy listening to themselves talk about something they know, but I think it's much more genuine and generous than that. That would need to be looked at on a case by case basis I suppose . Just listening to myself cracks me up sometimes. -Charlie

I also would like a forum on reef photography, my tank has re-ignited a life long passion for photography, It would be nice to share what I have learned here, as well as learn from those that have more knowledge than I.

There is one on the vegas forum. It fits nicely because all those look at my tank posts we put in general forum would be gone.

My question is are you looking for tank details or camera details?
We had a gallery for tank pictures in the past, but we found that even though people had access to it, it wasn't really used. I looked at it at first but most of the pictures were old and there were only a couple members that even had pics in their section.
If you want some good camera tips Mike Savage is a real asset. There are also a bunch of other camera experts. Also we had a meeting just for reef photograph.

I would love this as well, I only have one lens but want to learn and make the best of the camera that I can. I know there are various lenses/camera set ups but that's whats cool here--there is almost always someone who can help be it with a certain set up or procedure no matter the set up. I'm all for it, as long as it's a camera related and not necessarily a photo show off (we can make a certain thread or forum just for tank shots too)

I think that we could post photos in the section as well as long as they are hosted elsewhere, it's easy to link from photobucket or elsewhere, so that they are not being hosted on the message board.

I think this is a great idea, I would love to have other members knowledge of photography and also have others critique my shots so I know where I can improve.

It would be great to have a section dedicated to tank photography. I would love to learn to use my camera correctly.
