turn off your return and let your overflow drain down into your sump pull the pipes out to make sure it drains completely. Take the bulkhead off re seat it and then silicone it after the fact.
That's part of the problem, the return is off. I was installing a new sump and must have knocked the bulkhead. The problem is that the overflow must have a leak into the main part of the tank and the bulkhead out of the overflow to the sump has a leak. I'm trying to get a small pump in there to keep the overflow dry but all my pumps seem to be too big. Is there some kind of a sealer I can use that will seal something while it's leaking?
Solved it, thanks for the info and help. I ran to the hardware store and picked up a small pump to stuff down in the overflow to keep it pumped dry till the silicone on the back can dry
