Sorry for your loss. We do our best to provide, but keeping live animals sometimes brings sadness.

After a death preceded by the symptoms you describe, I suggest waiting 3-4 weeks before adding a new fish, to make sure the problem has run its course.

Died in QT over night. We are Sad, all other critters look fine. Only thing I can think caused this, I had moved rocks around in the tank last week and this resulted in all his burrows under rocks being filled. He dug three new burrows in the last three days. He must have damaged himself in the process and I was too slow in treatment. I think I have a Banded sleeper goby with fin rot. What is the best treatment? Symptoms are noticeable fin deterioration, red at base of fins, swims little, stopped eating sand and swims little. Been in the tank for 2 months.
