It says the bb blaster is only pulling 74scfh when I was running a sro5000ext I was getting 90scfh witch would definitely run a 450g system no problem on a heavy bioload. They have the drcs 300ext that pulls 84 scfh that probably your best bet ful control of input of water, pump speed, etc

My only hesitation is that it's only rated for 450 gallons... The other one I was contemplating was the SM 302 but its a huge foot print, it's recirculating (which I've always wanted to try), but it's also $1,300 :(

I'd go Reef Octopus. I have been pretty impressed with them the last year or so, they have been designing some nice stuff. I'd go with POV DC3 SPACE SAVER PROTEIN SKIMMER or DIABLO DCS 300 IN-SUMP PROTEIN SKIMMER the diablo is a older model dressed up with a new pump and pov has that wine bottle shape to help stabilize the foam head better. If your after color jns is nice but I dont like the idea of 2 pumps even though those pump are nice
