I got some computer fans for my canopy, and they're quieter than the desk fan I have been running, which wasn't too loud for me (though I would imagine it could be for someone else).

Putting a fan over your sump or in your canopy also depends on what you're trying to accomplish.  Some ballasts and bulbs (like mine) have a maximum operating temperature and need fans to keep them within range.  The fan for my canopy also keeps my tank under 80 degrees.

I got a micro power supply for the fans too, which I'll be able to use for some cold cathode moon lights some day.

I have an extra 2" cpu fan that you can have. Not big, but the little bugger pushes some air. It isn't all that loud either. Maybe you could throw a frag my way for it. Either way it is yours if you want it.

 Marcus, Does it work just as well to run a fan underneath at the sump? I would think it work better to run the fans over the lights which are the source of the heat but I have not had much experance with this.
