I'm just amazed how well everything fits together. I'm confident in my acrylic ablities, but even if I were to build something, I could only hope it would turn out this perfect.

The tank is a 125 and the shelf fits into the right 3rd. Here's what it looks like:

Most of the year I plan to keep only the center fixture above the tank. When frag time rolls around every few months I can whip out the extra fixture and shelf. Fortunately, both are easily installed and removed as needed.

I also forgot to mention in my last post that the diffuser does not just rest on the hooks. They can be threaded into the diffuser such that they will not seperate completely. The diffuser can slide up and down, but not off. 

Potentially, if you had a small enough shelf and a large enough snail, it could angle the shelf enough to knock the frags off. However, this possible shortcoming can be avoided with a small zip ties.

How did you ever catch that at Wal-Mart?  Does that go all the way across your tank, or just one half of it?

Hello everyone,

I can't believe how well this thing came together. I had planned to do somthing much more elaborate and expensive until I found this:

A $2 over-the-door hanger from walmart (I used the middle and right pieces before the picture, so use some imagination)

Here is the piece that I wanted. It came off really easily. So easily in fact, I think this product would be a POS for it's intended purpose.

Here's what it looks like in my tank.

Here's my impression so far: First of all, the over-the-door portion of the hanger is a perfect fit over-the-tank. The hooks fit perfectly into the light diffuser and even offers two depth options. It's easily removable when not in use. But best of all, it's rock solid.
