So I take it you've measured your coral's corallites to determine it was robusta?

Well considering It most likely came on a Rock that he got from Live Rock and I also have rock from there and the same exact coral in my tank that's why I specifically said Oculina Robusta.

Nope. From what I've seen and read its not pavona. Ah, well, that changes my guess...wasn't specifically looking at Florida corals since they usually don't come in. In that case, then either Oculina or Solenastrea since both are found in Florida.

Some species of coral like this extend their tentacles most of the day...others during most of the night. It'll help with ID.

But, BubbleGuppy and Ann - why specifically Oculina robusta? I don't think we can make the call on a species level without knowing more about the corallite structure. Oculina varicosa has a wider distribution (and smaller corallites) while robusta is extremely limited (but with larger corallites.) Then there's Solenastrea - why not that as a possibility?

So, willrileyiv - what size are the corallites?
