To xlr8r and Melissa, I am having beginners luck. I have no idea why my corals are growing so well in my tank. I'm just hoping that when something goes wrong, which of course it will one of these days, that I will notice it and can figure out what to do! I just watching these xenia moving around in the water. There is one way to inhibit xenia growth or kill it: put it in my tank

I can't keep that stuff alive to save my life!

Trimming xenia isn't going to hurt it at all. Good Luck!

xenia is like a weed that just doesnt stop lol. some advice is to put the rock of xenia in your sand so the xenia cant spread to all your rocks! learned that the hard way. Wink

Yeah, xenia is a non stop grower... If anything it will take over the zoos... I bought quite a few nice looking softies from someone on the forum, one of which is a really nice pink zenia attached to a rock, with a bunch of small zoas attached to the same rock. The zoas are really spreading and now I have several baby zoas that have sprung up on the "trunk" of my xenia. Is this a bad thing? Will it hurt the xenia?
