You can Pm me and i will point you to a local dealer that could probably supply you with the correct bearings .

I would suggest sticking with a good lubricating oil.

destroyed my little giant pump : So I just got my system all set...

    Author: Deluxe247
Subject: 57394
Posted: June 26 2012 at 2:20pm

So I just got my system all set up after moving. This time I put my sump in the basement below the tank on the main floor. To deal with the head pressure I bought a used little giant 4-mdqx-sc which does around 900-1000 gph at the current height. Its been running great for a few days until it started squeeling a little yesterday. I squirted in some wd-40 into the bearing ports and it SEEMED to help temporarily. This morning as I was leaving for work I noticed the main tank was not circulating, as if the main pump was off. Checked it out and it had seized. I unplugged it before it could start a fire because it was getting so hot. Turns out the oil ports I was putting oil into were actually plugged and very little if any oil actually made it to the bearings. I assume the previous owner probably never oiled it anyway so it was long overdue.
anyway, I put in some oil after cleaning out the ports and let it soak in but it seems the bearings are completely shot. I can turn over the motor (with some effort) but the motor wont spin on its own.
So let this be an expensive lesson to all who run in-line pumps: make sure you know if your unit needs regular lubrication, and exactly how to oil it!
Also, if anybody has an idea if it's even possible to resurrect one of these pumps I would greatly appreciate any help.
