So use the baster , squeeze till its full then let the back pressure suck it to the end like a syphon . I forgot but that works too

I also straightened a fish hook and tied it to the skewer so I have a barbed end on it . works great.

Yeah I was thinking of going to get long tongs but that's a good idea. And it looks like the crabs ate just about all of it.
