I have 24 over my redseamax without any optics on them and i'm confident that I can grow anything wherever I want.  (and my tank is 26" high)<br /><br />My suggestion would be to wait it out a few weeks and see what happens, if everything is open and happy, save your money. My guess is (especially if you aren't dimming the led's) that you are just fine.]]>

How far is it off the water? You could go with 36 LEDs. But I wanted to.see if it was a spread issue more than actually having enough light ]]>

And it almost looks like enough light but not quite. It has 24 LED's that are 3 w cree. I was planning to add a halide to it as well but I don't know how well this will blend, so what I am wondering is if I just stuck with all LED how many more would I need? <br />The tank is 30" deep and 20X24" <br /><br />]]>
